I was in the ER at 3AM with nothing to do. I picked up a copy of Fortune magazine dated January 2008, and flipped through it. There was a large article about the mortgage mess and how it was causing a credit crisis in the interbank lending markets. It went on to make a number of predictions about how the shit really could hit the fan if the liquidity problems continued. While it was not specific -- it predicted bank failures, but no WaMu, for example -- it certainly was uncanny to read in October. It was quite clear that it was going to be Really Bad.
I might just need to subscribe to Fortune. It's good to know the future.
