High school students build an airplane, and it works. Why don't we have more of this?
Cambell Brown suggests the candidates donate some of their record funds to food banks. They won't do it, but why not? What if John McCain donated $10 million to food shelters around the country? Wouldn't that be better publicity than he could buy with that money? And he needs something dramatic, right?

John McCain can't do this because he's used up all of his gimmick capital. Plus, Obama would obviously just give 100 million if McCain gave 10 million.
Obama could absolutely do it though. Of course, he doesn't need to. Buying 30 min. blocks of network TV is a little crazy.
Neither candidate should do it. It would be a waste of good money. What are you saying? That $100M is too much to spend on making a good decision about who should be president?
You could make the argument that the $100M is being spent on silly things like TV commercials that try to persuade but don't give data to voters. Okay, that's an okay thing to argue, but it's trivial.
This country spent $23 Billion on ice cream in 2006. If you're going to fight about how much money we're spending, let's choose the low-hanging fruit. You could reduce ice cream sales in the US by 0.43% and pay for this campaign.
