I wasn't going to vote for McCain, but I somewhat buy that he's not as dogmatic as many politicians on both sides, and when he was nominated I was reassured, because I wouldn't be crushingly depressed if the Republican won. I'm most worried about his similarities to Bush on foreign policy, but I think other players, such as Russia and China, are going to push us back towards a more familiar, almost Cold War footing during the next Presidential term, for better or worse. I wasn't scared.
The thought of Palin in line for the Presidency behind a man in his 70's terrifies me. The stakes just got higher.
