But he's still not counterpunching. No tenable anti-McCain narrative is emerging. McCain is controlling all of the news cycles, and the gap is becoming very narrow indeed.
Obama's team is smart. They deserve the benefit of the doubt. But I am getting a sick, sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach when I read the political news. I've been here before, and I don't like it.

I said this before, that Obama suffers when people see more of him and that he got no bounce from Europe. These are bad signs.
On the positive side, he *did* beat a vigorous Clinton campaign and that can never be fully discounted.
