Sheesh. It's a good thing nobody's paying much attention to him. otherwise, it would be pretty embarrassing.

I'm not sure the White House comments matter much with regard to McCain. He's in bed with them, but at the same time he's served by whatever distance he can put between them. In an odd way, he can sort of have it both ways on that score.
I'd say those two were neutral.
He needs to take a geography class.
Honestly, he doesn't need to take a geography class, he needs to be more careful with what he says. He *knows* that Iraq and Pakistan don't share a border, and in context, he was *clearly* discussing Afghanistan. But he's just a careless speaker, and he winds up saying something other than what he means, repeatedly. I don't think it's because he's old, or that it seriously impacts his fitness for the office. It does bespeak a sloppiness and lack of polish that is disturbing in a potential CIC.
But I believe in voting for the policy and the ideology, not just the man.
WRT the white house comments, you are right that they are a little more "meta," but it doesn't help when it feeds the growing zeitgeist that Obama was right about diplomacy and Iraq, when McCain wants his strength to be in foreign policy...
