Further Evidence the GOP has no interest in constructive governing

As if it were needed:

1.  GOP blocks approval of START arms reduction treaty with Russia (AFTER securing $84Bn to modernize US nuclear arsenal). No reason is given.

2. House GOP cannot get their deficit hawks to serve on the most powerful committee -- Appropriations. Traditionally this is the most sought-after, coveted seat in the House. But serving on it might require teahadists to admit that you can't cut your way to a balanced budget, so they'd rather wash their hands of responsibility and continue to grandstand.

Note to President Obama: THE GOP HAS NO INTENTION ON CONSTRUCTIVELY ENGAGING YOU ON ANYTHING. DO NOT ASSUME YOU WILL GET GOOD FAITH COOPERATION ON EVEN THE MOST TRIVIAL MATTER: YOU WILL NOT.

On another note, this Fox News headline defies parody:

USA Today has a typical soft-focus feature on President Obama's book for children. Headline:

Obama shares dreams for his kids in book on 13 Americans

Fox News ran with the story on its website, but tweaked the focus a bit to emphasize the fact that the book praises Sitting Bull. Here is the Fox News headline:

Obama Praises Indian Chief Who Killed U.S. General

You can't make this stuff up, people.

Yeah, Fox News has been discredited as a news source for a long time. I think it is fair to say that anyone who does not denounce Fox News as a news source is discredited in their opinions with regard to what makes something a legitimate source of information. Kind of like citing the National Inquirer. Sure, NI got a story right recently, but generally speaking, if you accept the National Inquirer as a news source I don't value you opinion about news.
